SKYRIM SE SIMPLE MODLIST?
Posted by Chawskijawski on December 31, 2018 at 12:52am
I've been modding skyrim off and on for years now and have decided to play the SE version and would like advice on a modlist. I really prefer a minimilistic mod selection (just personal taste) and am looking to get a max of twenty mods. I'm looking for a selection of graphical mods (to generally improve the games look, also am open to the idea of ENBS) and gameplay mods (I want the game to be harder, but balanced, I've had experinces with some mods that make the game way to easy or just to hard to the point of no fun). So overall looking for a max of twenty mods both graphical and gameplay related.
I would really appreciate some help because I just dont know where to start with SE and dont have the time (or patience these days) to dig through the thousands of mods out there.
Also happy to have joined the skyforge and hope everyone finds great adventure in there travels of skyrim or any other game!!

Glad to have you on the forge!
If you’re dead set on only 20 or so mods you’ll want SKYUI and the Unofficial Patches for sure. Beyond that I’m not sure what to recommend, but I’m sure more mod savvy folks like Brosis and John will give you a more complete answer once they see this.

Static mesh improvement mod does wonders for textures that you don't normally notice, such as barrels or ropes tied to railings. It's a great background detail that brings up these lesser textures that clearly didn't have a lot of time spent on them onto the same level as the rest of the game.

For me, ENB is the first decision you need to make, since it largely dictates your other graphical mods. Since you said you're open to ENB, and frankly I'm not really qualified to recommend visual mods for a setup that does not include ENB, I'm going to start by recommending that you do use ENB. Specifically, I recommend using a preset designed for Obsidian Weathers & Seasons, which is for my money the best all-around weather and exterior lighting mod available for SE right now. Currently I'm using Visceral ENB, but other good options include Rudy, Natural View Tamriel, or Silent Skies.
For the rest, it's worth considering how much conflict resolution you are trying to perform. Since you don't have interest in searching out your own mod list and want to limit it to 20 mods, I'm guessing you aren't interested in doing conflict resolution. So with that in mind, here are 20 mods I'd suggest that are pretty much just plug-and-play:
UI/Essential
- SkyUI
- Unofficial Patch (USSEP)
- SSE Engine Fixes
- Quick Loot RE
- Alternate Start - Live Another Life
Visuals
- Static Mesh Improvement Mod
- Noble Skyrim Mod HD 2K
- Underground
- Majestic Mountains
- Lightweight Grass Overhaul
- 3D Trees and Plants
- Weapons Armor and Clothing - Cathedral Concept
- Obsidian Weathers & Seasons
- Luminosity Lighting Overhaul
- Realistic Water 2 (load this last for compatibility reasons)
Gameplay/Content
- Wildcat
- Mortal Enemies
- Ordinator
- MorrowLoot Ultimate
- Economy Overhaul & Speechcraft Improvement
Visceral ENB SSE
A stunning yet performance friendly ENB preset striving for realism with a touch of fantasy

Thanks for the reply this list looks like just what I need. I'm assuming I still need to clean the master files for SE?
