Palm Beach County man arrested for burglary and voyeurism near school

A BOCA RATON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PARENT WHO HAD BEEN BANNED FROM THE SCHOOL WAS ARRESTED THURSDAY FOR PEERING INTO THE WINDOWS OF A HOUSE NEXT TO THE CAMPUS. THE ARREST FOLLOWS EMAILS FROM THE WHISPERING PINES ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL TO PARENTS, ASSURING THEM THE MAN WAS BANNED FROM THE SCHOOL AFTER HE MADE ANTI-SEMITIC THREATS TO STAFF. INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER TERRI PARKER HAS THE ARREST REPORT AND A TIMELINE OF WHAT LED TO ALL THIS. TERRI. FELICIA. POLICE SAY THE PARENT IN QUESTION HAD MADE ANTI-SEMITIC REMARKS TO SCHOOL STAFF. HIS SON ATTENDS WHISPERING PINES, WHICH IS WHY HE WAS THERE. HE WAS ALSO POSTING ANTI-SEMITIC RANTS ON SOCIAL MEDIA, SO PARENTS WERE UPSET AND NERVOUS, LEADING TO MANY OF THEM TO KEEP THEIR CHILDREN HOME. THIS WEEK. PALM BEACH COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES ARRESTED CHIRAG PATEL THURSDAY ON CHARGES OF BURGLARY AND VOYEURISM. ACCORDING TO THE ARREST REPORT, POLICE NOTICED PATEL WALKING THROUGH THE YARD OF A HOUSE NEXT TO WHISPERING PINES ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND THEN PEERING THROUGH SEVERAL WINDOWS AND APPARENTLY RECORDING THROUGH THE WINDOW WITH HIS CELL PHONE. A FEMALE WAS HOME ALONE, SLEEPING AT THE TIME. ABSENTEEISM AT THE SCHOOL WAS UP THIS WEEK BECAUSE PARENTS WERE ON EDGE FOLLOWING AN ALTERCATION PATEL HAD WITH THE PRINCIPAL AND STAFF, ACCORDING TO THE ARREST REPORT. PATEL HAD ALSO OPENLY TOLD POLICE DURING ONE RECENT ENCOUNTER THAT HE BELIEVED ALL JEWISH PEOPLE SHOULD BE DEAD. ON AUGUST 16TH, PRINCIPAL BARBARA RIMER SENT PATEL A LETTER BANNING HIM FROM THE SCHOOL AFTER USING ANTI-SEMITIC AND THREATENING LANGUAGE TO THE STAFF. ON AUGUST 23RD AND 26TH, SHE EMAILED PARENTS SAYING WHILE THERE HAD BEEN THREATS MADE AGAINST THE SCHOOL, THERE WAS INCREASED SCHOOL SECURITY IN PLACE, STILL TRIPLE THE NUMBER OF CHILDREN WERE ABSENT MONDAY. THURSDAY, SOMEONE CALLED IN A TIP SAYING THEY’D SPOTTED PATEL WALKING PAST THE SCHOOL DURING STUDENT DROP OFF. SHORTLY AFTERWARD, DEPUTIES SAW HIM PEERING THROUGH THE WINDOWS OF THE OCCUPIED HOUSE AND MADE THE ARREST INCREASED POLICE PRESENCE AT THE SCHOOL CONTINUES, AND ACCORDING TO COURT RECORDS, I LOOKED UP.
